Hunting, Camping, and More ...

Last week we went hunting/camping at a hot springs in the mountains about four hours away. The weather started out beautiful and mostly warm. The boys went swimming and wading in the nearby creek. We also went swimming up in the hot springs pool several times. Then a few storms moved in and it started to rain, snow, and rain some more. Well, why don't you take a look.

Andy did get a buck mid-week (the only animal harvested in our group of three families) on the first day of snow.

After we returned home, the boys went to a bowling birthday party for a girl we know. They enjoyed the bowling time.

August 28, 2007 - First Day Kindergarten

We rode our bikes to school.

I got a sucker.

Grandma Lea's Coffee Bread

The very first time I ever tried Grandma Lea's coffee bread was after our wedding reception. We hadn't eaten very much and were really hungry. So, a quick stop into my in-laws' house on our way to Canada. Andy grabbed some coffee bread, his mom's meatballs, and some music CDs. Oh, the coffee bread was so good. Over the next few years, when we would put in a visit to Grandma Lea, she always had coffee bread ready for us. :) We would always talk about making the bread together (so I could write it down) and there was never enough time. But when Grandma Lea visited Jim and Lisa down in Utah, I asked Lisa if she would make bread with her mom and write it down. I think every daughter has the recipe, but it had not been written down exactly the way Grandma made it.

They made the bread together and Lisa wrote it down as they went along. I am so very grateful to her for doing that.
